Before you start
You’ll make: A numbered review checklist and scoped changes for the comments you select.
- Codex open on the branch with an existing pull request.
- GitHub CLI installed and authenticated for the repository.
- Review comments on the open pull request.
Run these checks in your terminal before the install prompt.
gh --version
gh auth login
gh auth status1. Install the skill
Paste into a Codex conversation, not your terminal shell.
$skill-installer gh-address-commentsThe skill reads review threads using GitHub CLI. Only grant access to repositories you intend to work on.
Open the official source below and review SKILL.md, scripts, and the license. If the skill is missing after installation, start a new session or follow the agent’s reload guidance.
2. Try a small task
Copy this into a new Codex conversation. Replace example filenames with your own non-sensitive files where needed.
$gh-address-comments Read the review threads on my current pull request. Give me a numbered summary and explain the proposed change for each. Ask which items I want addressed before making changes.3. Check the result
- You receive a numbered summary of the real review threads.
- The agent asks which items to address.
- Any resulting edit is limited to those items and checked with relevant tests.
If something doesn’t work
- No current pull request
- Switch to the PR’s branch or give the agent its URL. An unpushed local branch may not have a PR yet.
- Authentication or rate-limit error
- Check GitHub CLI authentication or wait for the stated reset. Do not retry in a tight loop or paste tokens into chat.
